ICMA Introduces New Training Program for the Card Industry
PRINCETON JUNCTION, N.J. – October 23, 2014 – The International Card Manufacturers Association (ICMA), a global trade association for card manufacturers, personalizers, issuers and suppliers, is proud to introduce Card Industry Training & Education (CITE). This new program was developed to give new comers, or those who have limited exposure to the full scope of the business, a basic understanding of history and the technologies involved in the global plastic card industry.
“We are excited to introduce this new training program to the card industry,” said Jeffrey Barnhart, ICMA Executive Director. “We’re sure this program will provide value to ICMA members, and become a go-to educational resource for those looking for general industry training.”
CITE was developed to help acquaint new employees with the card industry, while keeping the material general enough to be of value to those employees not directly involved with card manufacturing, such as administrative, sales and financial staff.
The training starts with an introduction to card technology and then dives deeper into the following topics:
– Card Markets
– Industry Scope
– Card Product Categories
– Card Manufacturing
– Card Based Financial Transactions
– Industry Associations
ICMA plans to enhance and expand on this program in the future. Periodically, ICMA will expand on particular manufacturing processes as the program evolves to keep up with the latest industry trends and techniques. ICMA is confident this new training program will be beneficial and an indispensable tool for the card industry.
