ICMA Regional Events Highlight the Future of the Card Manufacturing Industry

ICMA EuroForum and North American Workshop to be Held in October

PRINCETON JUNCTION, NJ – September 26, 2013 – Discussions around how to drive the card manufacturing industry forward will be the focus at two events being hosted by the International Card Manufacturers Association (ICMA): the EuroForum being held October 7-8, 2013 at the Prague Hilton Old Town in Prague, Czech Republic and the North American Workshop being held October 22-23, 2013 at the Sheraton Chicago O’Hare, in Chicago, Illinois.

At the EuroForum, attendees will experience an event focused on educational topics directly affecting the European card manufacturing industry. Led by Rolf Christ of Klöckner Pentaplast, the event’s theme “Drive the Card Manufacturing Industry Forward” signifies that this event will provide a valuable opportunity for attendees to help shape the regional industry conversation. Agenda topics include: eID in the public domain, process integration and achieving manufacturing perfection.

Themed “Steps to a Successful Future in Cards,” the North American Workshop provides card manufacturers, personalizers, suppliers, issuers and other card industry professionals the opportunity to discuss important challenges, opportunities and trends facing the North American card industry today. Chaired by Scott Magnacca of OpSec Security, the event focuses on actual production issues, trends and topics. The Workshop will feature industry expert speakers who will share best practices and new approaches to achieve card manufacturing success on topics including: personalization and fulfillment trends, virtualizing cards, U.S. migration to EMV, how to improve performance through metrics and QC basics for non-secure personalization bureaus.

“The global card industry’s future faces interesting challenges as we try to stay successful while the industry continues to push forward,” said Al Vrancart, ICMA Industry Advisor and Founder Emeritus. “At these events, all key card industry stakeholders will dialogue on how to maintain the industry’s growth and make the necessary changes to ensure cards’ continued importance as a key contributor to the global economy.”

The Regional Events are designed for technical and card production staff, as well as executives and business owners. This year’s events will again feature interactive roundtable discussions that will analyze and explore current and future card market dynamics, path-forward trends, technologies and innovations on the horizon that will drive new and profitable card manufacturing growth. As in previous years, the event will also feature card industry supplier table top displays and a networking dinner, enabling ICMA members to interact with each other and exchange ideas.
