2016 EXPO, Payments Summit Marks First Collaboration
The International Card Manufacturers Association (ICMA), a global trade association for card manufacturers, personalizers, issuers and suppliers, and the Smart Card Alliance, a multi-industry association working to stimulate adoption of smart card technology and advanced payment technology, announced today they will colocate their respective conferences to create a synergistic experience for the industry.
The 2016 ICMA EXPO and 2016 Payments Summit will be held April 4-7 in Orlando, Fla. The events will include a joint exposition and opening general session, as well as separate educational tracks on new technologies and emerging payment applications involving EMV chip card, mobile and transportation payments. ICMA and the Smart Card Alliance will also hold separate networking events for attendees and organization members.
“Through collaboration, we are providing our members with access to the latest technologies in the marketplace,” said ICMA Executive Director Jeffrey Barnhart. “In addition to the educational value, the colocated 2016 ICMA EXPO and 2016 Payments Summit will provide an invaluable opportunity for members of both organizations to network and build relationships on a larger scale.”
“We are excited about the opportunity to educate an expanded audience about the new technologies and applications that focus on consumers’ demand for heightened security and privacy,” said Randy Vanderhoof, executive director of the Smart Card Alliance. “Having both of these events in one venue will truly bring the entire industry together from the production and payments applications perspective.”
